As executive vice president, government & community affairs, Charlie Coffey is responsible for government relations at the political level and promotion of business goals for targeted business segments and special interest groups. In 1997, Grand Chief Phil Fontaine and the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs named Charlie Coffey an Honourary Chief; he was awarded this distinction for his support of the First Nations' peoples and their goals of economic development and self-sufficiency.
Mr. Coffey is a fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and a graduate of the Tuck Executive Program at the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, Dartmouth College.
Charlie Coffey is a director of: Royal Bank Growth Corporation, Canada-US Fulbright Foundation, Canadian Journalism Foundation, McMaster University's Innovation Research Centre, The Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation and the Toronto International Film Festival & Cinémathèque Ontario. He is also an advisory board member of the Canadian-American Business Council, a national council member of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and a member of the National Aboriginal Economic Development Board.
