I am Chariya, and my nick name is John. I am from Cambodia and now a participant of the Asian Youth Fellowship Program in Osaka, Japan.
I am very interested in social development work specially in education sector. Therefore, I have been volenteering and involving with severial local organizations and institions to promote the universial education as in MDGs key#1. My friends and I have created projects called Youth Empowerment for Leadership and Youth For Youth Program in which we have held many workshops and conferences in many universities in Cambodia. The projects aim to gather as much as many people to get involved in social contribution and particularly in primary school since there are many kids who quite the school at the age of 10-15 years old because of the poverty and unadequate teachers and schools. What we are trying to do is to emphasize the importance of education to the parents and the kids so that they can stay in school longer with the better focused on the quality of education.
