BVO offers meaningful volunteer opportunities aiming to find alternative solutions to issues of education, Orphanage Homes, Health, and Environment. Through volunteering, volunteers can develop solutions to issues in the Nepali community and also experience a memorable and unique adventure. Here at BVO we seek to provide a unique experience which combines volunteering and other activities to give you a greater understanding of Nepali culture which you can then use in your work as a volunteer. Our program- -Teaching English at school (government/private boarding) -Home-stay and cultural exchange programs (all over Nepal) -Assist in Orphanage Home -Teach and learn at monastery -Primary health care and medical program (assist at health post or hospital) -Working in agricultural fields -Work at disabled care house -Teaching sports at school -Environmental awareness -Health and sanitation issues -School and community maintenance -Social work with local youth club and organization Volunteers are welcome to design their own program in a variety of areas. If youwould like to work in a particular field we will support you to arrange all the necessary things. Program Location- Our volunteer placements are available in Kathmandu valley, Pokhara, Chitwan and Hetauda.All of the placements are nearby a major city or town. Generally we will choose the location of your volunteer placement according to demand, however, we can also discuss a particular placement in accordance with your needs and interests taking into account the safety of our volunteers and availability of placements. Program Requirement- We do not ask for any formal qualifications from our volunteers.All we ask is that you have a genuine desire to help people and are willing to experience a new culture and lifestyle. Program schedule- Our programs run throughout the year. You can volunteer from 2 weeks and up to 5 months.We are quite flexible with program starting dates. Training- -Basic Nepali language classes (2-3 Hours) -Nepali Cultural information (1 Hour) -Information about adjusting in a Nepali family -Sight-seeing around Kathmandu Valley" (UNESCO world Heritage sites) -Different Nepali Dinners with BVO staffs Note- Training length will be according to your stay. It ranges from two days for two weeks up to three weeks for five months. Training will be in two phases the first phase will be at a Hotel (where you will stay during the training period) near by BVOs office, and the second phase will be in Dhulikhel/Sanga village. Program Fee- 2 weeks is 340 Pounds 4 weeks is 480 Pounds 6 weeks is 530 Pounds 8 weeks is 580 Pounds 10 weeks is 635 Pounds 12 weeks is 685 Pounds 16 weeks is 790 Pounds 20 weeks is 930 Pounds Your program fees cover pretty much everything except bottled water and booze. NOTE:-For more than 8 weeks program,we always take into account the volunteers interest so on volunteers arrival we will discuss and make the schedule. Your fee does not cover- -Bottled water and your personal expenses (phone call, Internet, fax, extra food) -Your flights or visas (a 60 day tourist visa is only US$30, the extensions are US$30 per 30 days with three possible renewals) -Travel insurance, police check, and corresponding airport departure taxes.
