Lesly Jules is a recognized expert in the small business sector in Haiti, with over 15 years of experience in consulting and education. Mr. Jules has led teams that analyzed and assisted vocational and youth training programs, business development service providers, microfinance institutions, as well as providing advice to a variety of international donor agencies. Mr. Jules has significant experience in entrepreneurship and business planning, as well as organizational development. As a business developer with the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee in Port-au-Prince, Mr. Jules advised small business leaders through a business incubator program, and encouraged private sector business people to participate in this program as volunteer mentors, with a focus on business ethics and corporate citizenship. In addition to his consulting work, Mr. Jules spent five years developing the business curriculum of a leading educational institution in Haiti. He has carried out a significant amount of research on the formal and informal sectors, and managed research projects related to specific sub-sectors, including tourism. Mr. Jules is the principal author of two highly influential studies, one related to the development of the Haiti tourism industry, and the other a guide to creating a business in Haiti. He is a native French and Creole speaker, fluent in English, and proficient in Spanish.
