About Me

My name is Lansana Mansaray, commonly called Barmmy Boy, I was born in new England field central Freetown the capital. I grew up in the west end of Freetown called cockle bay Lane.
I am a Christian and i speak English, Creole and Limba

I attended the Murray Town Army Municipal Primary School, Murray Town Barracks Freetown. I attend the West African Methodist Collegiate Secondary School Freetown were I took my Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) and also my West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (W.A.S.S.C.E), and later the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology Congo Cross Campus were I did a certificate in business and management studies.

I join IEARN-SL late 2003, I first participate in a myhero project in which student talk about people they admire in life (people who they consider to be heroes) www.myhero.com .In April 2004, I was awarded a certificate for participating in an international music program called “Rap4Rights” organized by Plan Netherlands in Freetown in honour of the famous Dutch rap artist Raymster. Due to my inspiring performance, I was award the post of a music director for Iearn Sierra Leone.
My duty was to train students and youths who are interested in music, discover, develop and promote their talents.

In my capacity as a music director, I wrote a project song for Plan Sierra Leone on birth registration, a nation wide campaign encouraging parents/guardians to register the children after birth. In September 2004, I was awarded a certificate for participating in IEARN-SL summer school on computer application software programs. I was certified for my inspiring role as a music director in an international music project entitle; “Moving to the beat mobilizing youths” organize by IEARN-SL and MAMAS (Mobile Assessment ad Media Systems) during the period of 1st July October 3rd 2005 on the 18th September 2005, I lead the music team for We Are the Future’s (W.A.F) first talent explosion in Freetown in which the team was awarded a certificate for brilliant and talented performance.
In November 2005, I leads the PMP team of over sixteen youths (Artists) to produce IEARN-SL first music album titled: Salone 4 go B4 (Sierra Leone should Progress). it was officially Lunched on the 9th December 2005. There were thirteen songs in album, i played major roles in some of the songs and i have two songs in the album (Freeze and Dangerous).
I was awarded a certificate for a successful participation in a five day training workshop organised by War Child Canada for youth leaders and outreach officers in Freetown Sierra Leone, December 12-23/2005, Topic covered; Facilitation skills, Gender, HIV/Aids and reproductive health, Human rights, Good Governance and youth Leader ship.
I participated in IEARN-SL/War Child Canada sponsored psychosocial music program held in Koindu town, Kono district, Eastern Sierra Leone from march 3rd to 5th 2006 in which i was awarded a certificate for my role as a music director.
