writer, photographer, medical student. cyclist, jogger and i climb walls. i (try to)write music, and i (try to) sing. i would like to learn how to dance.
my intellectual interests are in transnational social action and movements, migration, humanitarian traditions, the politics of caring, cultural studies, literature, the politics of gender and sexuality.
my substantive areas of work have been in labour standards, hiv/aids, migration and refugee issues, as well as housing, poverty and welfare rights.
i have worked in research, advocacy, community organising and direct service delivery. i am happiest one-on-one, in the latter, but i firmly believe in integrating all aspects of social justice work to be effective.
i have lived in kuwait, india, south africa, canada and the united states -- besides travelling elsewhere too.
