It is an indisputable fact that after the decade long civil war in Sierra Leone, those that received the blunt aspect of atrocities are mostly young people (Youths and Children). The intention of learning the past is not a bad one, but the challenging aspect of it is how to forget the past and confront the future. To this end positive social transformation is much needed tool for the sustainable growth and development of young people across the country. It’s against this moral sublime, that Artists United for Children and Youth Development a Non-political, Non-governmental and Non-profit organization established in 2007 and registered with the Ministry of Education Youths and Sports (MYES) and the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children Affairs (MSWGCA) in Sierra Leone. AUCAYD is a group of young people who promote peace and development through music, art and other cultural media. They provide opportunities for young people through education and information technology training, as well as help inspire hope and ambition in homeless and war affected youth. Mohamed Samba Kamara (aka Luxsonjay) is the phenomenal youngster who founded AUCAYD four years ago. Quintessential Luxsonjay is working tirelessly with his team making a difference… help putting Sierra Leone in front instead of the laughing stock. AUCAYD is funded by Street Quality Records and War Child Canada since May 2009. http://inwent-iij-lab.org/Weblog/2009/07/23/aucayd-talents-go-international/ http://www.warchildusa.org/programs_int_selected.aspx?id=10 http://newsroom.warchild.ca/releases/war-child-canada-releases-first-single-from-war-child-10/ http://www.backbenchersmedia.com/projects.html www.aucayd.org
