About Me

Have you ever experienced the excitement of advancing to something completely new? I'm sure everyone had at least one of those before. The excitement of when you first discovered how to walk; when you first rode a bike; the count of your years on Earth finally entering the double-digits when you turned 10; the first person you became acquainted with as a friend; your first application of the knowledge you obtained to a real-life situation; your first award; entering a competition; acquiring a new talent; finally achieving an improvement in a particular subject that you were dying to improve for; the very first time you spent a night without your parents. These are just a few of the many steps you take in the path of your life.

Currently, for me, the step I'm taking is my approaching grade 8 graduation. I can't describe the feeling -- you may think me naïve, thinking tch! just a graduation, and an elementary graduation at that too, but for me, it's a whole new experience, a symbol for a fresh start. It means I'm moving from the first and only neighbourhood I've ever known -- the one I've known in the 14 years of my life so far. It's special, that feeling. Am I sad? Not really. Sure, it means that I'll miss my friends and all that, but it also means something new. It means I'll get to go to new places, meet new people. I can't imagine being confined to one place for the rest of the years to come. I like to travel, explore -- I really haven't had much of a chance to really do that so far. In a way, I'm really looking forward to graduation.

I don't know what compelled me to write all that, but... *shrugs*. Ah, enough of my blabber, a bit about me, am I supposed to write? Well, I am 14 (for those of you who preferred to skip all the above rubbish), and I am female (well duh).My favourite colour is olive green. Never yellow-green, I absolutely hate that colour. I guess there's nothing really different in my personality, except that maybe I'm a little persistent for certain things; once my mind has been set on something, it's really hard to change it (except if you're extremely annoying. I don't like annoying people, but I'll *sigh*, pretend to put up with them. Hehe, I'll usually say 'whatever' to get them to go away). I guess you can say I'm hardworking as well. Hmm... my music preference? Don't really have any, I just usually listen to what's off the radio, anything's fine with me. Except certain pop songs. Some are just sheer annoying! Oh yeah, I don't like rap either. Don't know why, I just don't. Turn on any song with swear words near me and I'll shut it off if I can -- they're loud, rude, and plain annoying. Yeah, I know, a lot of you are probably protesting right now, but hey, it's MY profile, and MY preferences. I play the piano (no, classical is so not my favourite), although I'm not too fond of it, I still put up with it. The piano sometimes drives me insane though, it's so infuriating! Am I artistic? Not really... I mean, I don't liketo draw, but hey, if a teacher gives an art assignment, i'll try to do my best on it. Poetic? No. I don't go spewing poems around like my everyday vocabulary, but when I put my mind to it, yeah, I sort of like writing poems. My favourite book/movie: definitely the Lord of the Rings. Roll your eyes all you want, but I simply love LotR. Even got the soundtracks, crazy me -- they're classical! Do I have an obsession (besides LotR)? Archaeology. Haven't really studied it, studied it, like professionally, but I really like Egypt. That place is next on my to-go list (yeah, I like to travel), but unfortunately, my parents refuse to go due to the heat and *supposed* flies there. Anything else? Nothing that I can think of right now. Maybe later. I’ll check my spelling and grammar later too.
