About me
I am currently working as an Intern for Global Youth Action Network (GYAN) in New York. I am working on the online consultations GYAN's members are involved in to present their opinions in form of reports to various United Nations commissions.
I became interested in social justice and development at an early age through my various experiences in the United States and abroad. As I have grown, I have seen the need for marginalized populations to become involved in all areas of development. Empowerment is the first step to creating real change in the world.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) at the University of Tennessee in 2008, where I also completed a minor in Political Science and spent a semester working and studying in Ghana, West Africa. Now, I am working on my Masters in Social Work to take the lessons I learned in my BSSW a step further.
I hope to continue to explore the world and develop new ways of thinking about what social development means!
