 About Me |
Founded in 2006, Alacridad is an international nonprofit organization that provides volunteer assistance and computing resources to Latin American community programs in need.
We believe that this type of assistance can only be effective when we put the community's needs and goals first, rather than imposing outsiders' objectives, Alacridad looks for partnerships with dynamic, community-led initiatives whose work creates value and social justice.
After identifying such programs, our unpaid staff works with community members to co-create an individualized plan of support. Bringing both technological resources and small interdisciplinary groups of students to the host community, we work to meet the needs of the local organization while providing a meaningful intercultural experience for our volunteers
Our first project is in Panama this summer, where we helping start on ESL and computer literacy program.
