About Me |
Anish Kattukaran founded the Make Poverty History Campaign in the United Arab Emirates in June 2005 at age 17. It has since grown into the national coalition of GCAP and an integral part of the largest anti-poverty movement in the world. He currently sits on the Steering Committee as the National Coordinator.
He has recently been appointed International Spokesperson for GCAP.
As a former member and representative of the UAE to the International Fascilitation Team of GCAP he was a part of the team that restructured the global campaign in Beirut in 2005. After the restructuring he was then appointed to the international board of the campaign for Youth Management & Policy. He is currently also on the GCAP Global eCommunication Management team.
An Indian National, Mr. Kattukaran was born in New Delhi and raised in Bangalore where he studied in St Josephs High School. He then completed his GCE Ordinary Levels in Dubai Scholars Pvt. School and went on to earn his GCE Advanced Levels in Math and Physics at the St Mary's Catholic High School.
The Make Poverty History Campaign informs, inspires, advocates and encourages people's involvement and action in the realization of the Millennium Development Goals and the eradication of Extreme Poverty. The campaign is the national branch of The Global Call to Action Against Poverty(GCAP), the largest anti-poverty movement in the world with more than 100 national branches, 1700 member organizations and 150 million supporters worldwide.
