Alicia has a Bachelor of Arts with an Honours degree in Criminology from York University. Prior to her studies at York, she completed the Law Clerk program at Humber College. Alicia is a human rights advocate that has a strong passion for social justice. Alicia's commitment to accessibility, advocacy and public awareness started at a very young age with her involvement with The War Amps CHAMP Program and Operation Legacy. Alicia's experiences with the War Amps enabled her to act as a peer counsellor, safety ambassador, and representative by participating in seminar weekends, parades, news releases and media interviews. Alicia is also highly committed to the fight against HIV and AIDS. This committment stemmed from her personal experience of losing a close family friend to AIDS-related illnesses. Alicia has not only become an HIV educator that is committed to prevention through education, but she also brings a multidisciplinary understanding and approach to health issues.
