About Me

Originally from Northwestern Ontario, Canada, Adam currently resides in Vancouver. After graduating from the University of Ottawa with degrees in Political Science and History, he was a member of the TIG team through his participation in the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs's Young Professionals International internship program. In collaboration with the Brussels-based International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU), Adam worked for TIG as a Campaign Co-ordinator for Youth and ICT issues. His main project involved helping to co-ordinate lobbying related to youth issues at the UN World Summit on the Information Society, held in Geneva in December 2003.

After leaving the TIG family, Adam has held various positions (in addition to attending law school at the University of Victoria from 2004 to 2007). Prior to commencing law school, he worked as a researcher with the City of Thunder Bay (Ontario) Tourism and Economic Development office. As a Law Co-op student, he worked as a policy researcher with Corporations Canada in Ottawa, in the Corporate Law section of the law firm Stikeman Elliott LLP in Toronto, and as a criminal prosecutor with the Canadian Department of Justice in Vancouver.

After completing his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 2007, Adam made his way across Canada with a couple of friends and with most of his stuff piled into his old Pontiac Sunfire. Eventually finding his way to Ottawa, he spent a year articling at the Ottawa office of Stikeman Elliott, where he worked in intellectual property law and various areas of civil litigation. He was called to the Ontario bar in September 2008, after which time he accepted a position as a criminal trial prosecutor in Surrey, British Columbia, with that province's Ministry of Attorney General.

In his free time, Adam enjoys travelling, music, playing softball and soccer, and running.
