Priscilla Ainhoa Griscti, born in Castellon, Spain, in 1985. At a very young age she assisted her father who was a prominent antiquarian, and was always surrounded by works of art which she lovingly observed and meticulously studied. At an early age she spent her spare time drawing, showing great promise and acute observation. In her secondary education at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, she took up art as her main subject spending most of her lunch breaks in the art room sketching and drawing.
In 1999, at the age of 14, she entered the Malta Government School of Art in Valletta and attended private art lessons with Jessica Debattista. In 2001, she entered De La Salle College and studied practical art under the late Olaug Vethal, who encouraged her to continue her liberal approach towards drawing and painting.
At the age of 17, apart from practising at home, she started to attend life drawing sessions at Alfred Briffa’s studio where she acquired a good understanding of the figure by creating a series of anatomical studies. At the studio she worked alongside other contemporary artists where she often discussed artistic matters. She also spent time with Harry Alden at his studio where continued to practise drawing and painting. Recently she started working at the studio of Zell Osborne in Sliema, again expressing her liberal style in clay sculpture.
In 2003 she took up History of Art under the directorship of Profs. Mario Buhagiar. Also attended lectures on Baroque studies with Dr. Keith Sciberras and Modern art with Dr. Joseph Paul Cassar. She further attended study tours under Profs. Buhagiar where she visited various museums in Europe.
In 2004, aged 18, whilst at university, she did her first solo exhibition at the Hotel Le Meridien Phoenicia, where she displayed works in pen and ink and aquarelles, in an exhibition entitled ‘Hidden Illusions’ which was had a positive response from media and public. In 2005 she continued to take part in further exhibitions including a collective exhibition called 'Brushstrokes' at Vilhena Palace in Mdina.
In 2006, she did her dissertation on 'Antoine Camilleri – The Man and the Artist', and in the same year, graduated in Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Art History from the University of Malta.
In 2007 she formed part of the ISIDEM workshop held by the Portuguese artist Sancho Silva and exhibited collectively together with other Maltese artists in an exhibition entitled '60x60x60'. This allowed her to experiment in different media including both photography and video installations. During this year she also attended the SACI Malta Restoration Internship run by Roberta Lapucci where she followed lectures at the University of Malta and carried on practical work on the restoration of 'The Baptism of Christ' by Mario Minniti.
Currently she is working on her M.A. degree in Art History and is writing her dissertation on the Modern Artist and Sculptor Josef Kalleya.
