About me
I am a daughter, sister, wife and mother, roles that she plays with pride, honor and fulfillment. I began my schooling career in Botswana and have excelled academically at all levels, and have won countless awards for academic achievement, initiative and leadership. However, my passion lies in volunteerism, which I have been doing for 13 years and counting. Growing up I became an excellent member and graduate of a youth empowerment initiative run by the Botswana YWCA, which equipped me with various life skills, leadership and training skills. I am known to take life very seriously, this coupled with my strong character, love for learning and a need to develop society, has enabled my participation at both national and international fora as a voice for the youth. I have served as a board member for YWCA Botswana, Youth Health Organization and the Coalition for Peace in Africa and a focal point for Botswana for Youth Against AIDS. I have been appointed Botswana’s youth delegate to many international events including the International AIDS conferences, the China-Africa youth festival, World youth congress and the African Youth Parliament. In 2002, I received a National Youth Award for Personal Development and Leadership. I will be completing my Bachelors degree in Social Sciences (majoring in Psychology and Public Administration) at the end of April 2007.
