About Me |
I am a young Ghanaian, and currently the Executive Director of Bloechliger Foundation--a registered, youth-led NGO in Ghana, with representation in Weesen- Switzerland. I am a member of the National Youth Council, GYCA/GYAN and the International Aids Society. Since 2006, I have been contributing to the KEEP THE PROMISE Campaign of the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance- Switzerland. I have also spearheaded the establishment of the Bloechliger Foundation as a youth-led NGO, committed to the empowerment and improvement in the lives and livelihood of young people, women and children. My background experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, Youth livelihood programs, community development,Gender and right advocacy among others and my participation in youth development activities, exposed me to a wide range of issues- confronting the development of mankind. While serving as an officer, I assisted in the registration of refugees with the UNHCR and developed the MIGRANT HEALTH WATCH- the HIV/AIDS newsletter of the immigration service.
In 1997-99, while serving as a national service personnel and later a development assistant with the Pilot programme women and development Programme;(of the Netherlands Development Organization:SNV)I helped developed the Pempamsie Krataa: the development newsletter focusing on women empowerment. Also, with support from Book Aid international, Ghana Book Trust, The British Council, world vision International etc. I established the Wad Library as a resource centre for the local community.
I have a passion for Gender issues, youth empowerment and humanitarian service generally. I am available to render voluntary service to mankind anywhere in the world.
Currently am considering a write -up on cyber- bullying, mental health(myths and realities) as well as climate change.
In August last year (2010), I participated in the Emerging African Leaders conference -organized by the World Youth alliance (of which I am a friend)at the Kenya High School in Nairobi-Kenya. I was also part of the maiden introductory session of the World Youth Alliance Charter at the Fafa Royal Hotel in Accra-Ghana. I facilitated the participation of some of our young people in the UN Youth Assembly in New York, various health fora of the DPI/NGO in Ghana, ammong others.
