After completing my formal education (Masters in Public Administration from Dhaka University), I started working for UNICEF in an effort to rebuild my motherland, devastated by the war of liberation. After a year, I joined the UNWFP where I worked for more than 15 years in various professional capacities. I completed a post-graduate degree in Development Administration from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Subsequently I left the UNWFP and started working as a free-lance consultant in the field of socio-economic development. I migrated to the US in early 2001 and have been living in Boston ever since. All my formal and paid employment has always been toward people's good, trying to comprehend and alleviate the sufferings of the teeming millions. Working with the YES2002 team has been a tremendously fulfilling experience. My major hobbies are music, travelling, making friends and fashion designing. I had quite a successful and popular MEN's line named "Tamjid's" in Bangladesh. Having been born and grown up in a country where literally millions of people sleep without a wholesome square meal, and having worked with WFP very intensively which provided me with a chance to observe and feel hunger from a close distance, I really envision a hunger-free world. |
