Talita Montiel d'Oliveira Castro is 19 years old. Talita began her work with young people in 1999, as a member of an environmentalist group for young people. They visited schools to discuss alternate modes of development and variant models of life on Earth. In 2002, they created the Synchronicity Institute for Social Interaction, which focused on implementing new pedagogical models. In the same year, Talita discovered the Global Youth Action Network. Since that time, Talita has become a GYAN staff member in the South American Regional Office. She is a history student with a passion for family, sports, and the environment. In Brazil, she is fostering communication and partnership between youth movements, private institutions and municipalities. Talita has also participated in the World Social Forum and the Global Youth Parliament.
