Justin Meade, born in Paris, France, is a third year full time student at McGill University (Montreal, Canada) studying Political Science, History, and Ecological Economics. French-American by nationality, he is bilingual (French/English) and has lived in Paris, San Francisco, New York, Montreal, and plans to move to Barcelona. Justin has previously worked for GEO magazine in Paris (1999), the Aperture Foundation (2002), and Umbrage Editions in New York (2003). In addition to being the Global Youht Action Network consulting editor for an upcoming brochure, he is the Outreach and Events Executive for the McGill University Photography Society, and is launching Journalism for Social Change (JSC), a non-profit organization that will provide consulting advise to independent medias of all sort to promote Human Rights, student recognition and student empowerment through the arts, culture and current events at large. Justin is dedicated in advancing human rights issues using a platform of photography embedded journalism. His lastest project at Umbrage Editions (publishing/multimedia company that uses that arts for Social Change) are Pandemic: Facing AIDS (www.pandemicfacingaids.org), a multi-faceted project pertaining to the Global AIDS crisis, and Speak Truth to Power (www.speaktruthtopower.org), a project promoting and coordinating the efforts of global Human Rights defenders.
