 About Me |
I was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario where my family, including my 4 beautiful nephews still lives. I have a BA in English & French from the University of Guelph and an MA in French Literature from Dalhousie University.
I've been working in the field of Youth Engagement for a few years now, first as a Project Leader for Katimavik in Grand Falls/Grand Sault, NB and then as the Timmins Youth Engagement Coordinator for TakingITGlobal. The Creating Local Connections project was one I was very proud to support and continue to do so as part of their Advisory Network.
During my stint in Timmins I also worked on organizing a Youth Forum with the local government to get youth talking about and acting on the issues that matter to them through the support of the community and government representatives.
Nowadays I'm the Director for the Youth as Facilitative Leaders program at ICA Canada in Toronto. It's very exciting position and one that I have already grown to love with all my heart. My program focuses on mentoring & leadership training for young people as a means to get them more involved in their communities.
