Two years ago, I launched a project meant to educate our children and our children teachers of how to love and understand the gift of nature and the surroundings(the environment)This task can never be done by one person or one group of people however informed and able they might be! So I need you to join my crusade by supporting me! Every minute we hear in media that the world is facing the catastrophe of global worming and believe it or not this epidemic is to effect all of us regardless of our levels of education, standards, geographical locations, racial affiliations etc. Am an artist and a self publishing author of children books, my names are Davis Costa Ssempuuma Ddamulira PhD. Born in 1966 on the shores of the world’s greatest fresh water basin called Lake Victoria, locally known as Nnalubaale, this lake is located in East Africa. Most of my writings are allegorical and sort of didactic. So far, I have written 50 books and am continuing to write more. If at all we had no nature to teach us, may be we would not be advanced and developed like the way we are today! I do believe that, if we tell our children some stories with moral concept and make them learn how to relate, observe, and make comparisons, the world might be a very safe place to live in. As concerned parents, we have to tell and sensitize our children about the threats which our planet earth is facing and then give them the suggestions and solutions. We have to tell them that in future they are to turn into adults and once they become one, it will be their responsibility too to teach their children too. We should as adults try our level best to eliminate the boundaries which may hinder our children to learn more from their spheres .Our children may be acquiring this kind of education at school, but once we happen to apply it more as parents in our homes, believe me it will have a very big impact on our children. I feel and need to see the future of our children being embroiled in loving and caring community. Our children should be taught to accept unity in diversity of mankind. We have to teach and tell them that, the popular and the infamous world conflicts which are prevailing today are due to issues like being self centered and selfishness. My role as a concerned parent is and has been to educate our children from all walks of life to love the gift of nature and appreciate and admire the advancement of man. If really we had no nature surrounding us to learn from, then we would not be able to learn and acquire skills and techniques we have today. In my project of educating our children at home, I have written a number of books. My writings are simple and they are based on what our children see , feel, hear, touch and test every day. My writings are in two categories the first category is the collection of short stories which can make some good cartoon movies and at the end of the story I give the true story of the animal characters mentioned in the story and the second is about nature and how men have learnt from nature to live the kind of life we have today. What we might assume to be our bad neighbors, might in other way be our good neighbors. My cause is to see to it that, I educate the young people/the kids from all walks of life about the gift of nature. My writings are simple and are very easy to digest by any child and children teachers. I use the examples of whatever we see, feel, smell, taste and hear when telling my story/stories. My message is meant to make our youngsters to love the gift of nature and appreciate technology as well. I believe through this kind of effort, we can create a better and a safe global environment.
