About Me |
I am a young Program Coordinator, working with an international NGO (CRWRC) in my country, Cambodia. In my job, I deal with many local partners in order to build and improve their capacities in fund raising and project cycle management. With our local partners, and based on our organizational mission, I have the opportunity to create awareness on HIV/AIDS to high risk people, such as teenagers, young women and men and those who plan to migrate in search of work in the city. I also work closely with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in the poorest communities to build up their capacity to actively participate in gender mainstreaming and advocacy at grassroots level, and to start to find solutions to the common problems in the community by working for change with the decision makers and local authorities.
We also guide the partners and CBOs to be more aware of the vulnerable and the victims of poverty by motivating and encouraging rehabilitation and giving people the opportunity to start small village businesses and by providing small grants. In my work with partners and CBOs, I have realized that I could be much more effective if I had greater knowledge and skills to help our partners raise funds for their projects, as well as train others to manage the support to poor communities. In my job, I need to be continuously aware of what is going on and studying is a big part of that. That is how I plan to contribute to the development efforts of my country.
