 About Me |
Four years ago I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. It was during my undergraduate studies that I first developed an interest in international development and decided to pursue additional studies in this field after graduating. I then completed a one year post-graduate program at Humber College in International Project Management and begun an internship at World Vision in the Volunteer Resources Department. While there I recruited, trained and supervised over 300 in-office volunteers. After completing my internship I was asked to join the 30 Hour Famine department as a Campaign Representative. I traveled around educating youth groups and high school students about various international development issues such as poverty and HIV/AIDS. This position was both challenging and rewarding, but offered an excellent opportunity to demonstrate to youth the difference they can make in the lives of others. I then joined the Canadian Cancer Society as a Fundraising Coordinator where I worked with groups of volunteers to organize several fundraising events. Desiring to return to the field of international development I accepted my current position, which is Overseas Program Officer with Christian Blind Mission International. My primary responsibility is to write project proposals and monitor our ongoing projects overseas. Earlier this year I traveled to Kenya to participate in a project evaluation.
When not working I love traveling and spending time with family and friends.
