 About Me |
I am a spoken word artist known as Ritallin and based in Ottawa. I have performed at poetry shows from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island, and I was a co-founder of Capital Slam, Ottawa's slam-tastic monthly poetry series. I currently run Cytopoetics, an arts education/event promotions/creative services initiative responsible for shows such as Scribology and Bill Brown's 1-2-3 Slam.
I also do workshops and performances in schools across Canada, so if you want a poetry workshop or a cool poetry/hip-hop presentation at your school, I'm your guy!
I have also facilitated workshops at conferences and in workplaces on leadership, Black history, anti-discrimination/anti-racism and diversity.
I grew up in Scarborough, Ontario and I used to be a hip-hop artist. When I was in high school I was in a rap group with Juno Award winning recording artist Choclair.
During the day, I work as a Senior Learning Advisor, Diversity & Employment Equity, with the Department of Justice Canada.
