I am a happy go lucky non-traditional college student. I found that it's more fun to BE TRADITIONAL by enrolling into an institution of higher learning up high school graduation. Even better to know where you're headed by your Junior year in High School. Finish college in a timely manner and you'll find a lot of options.
Optimism seems to work some magic when you need to roll up your sleeves and put your shoulder to the wheel.
After spending two years in Japan as a missionary, it was a really nice opportunity to return home and finish school. That's a fully big step forward in my life because I spent several years playing drums for rock bands and surfing almost every chance while missing out on fantastic learning opportunities. I studied Political Science in college and found that the most beneficial form of policy is the kind of wonderful impressions you can make through diplomacy.
So I think that the world generally becomes happier when people surf, play music, eat from a variety of cultures, and smile it up really big. You never know how much your smile could enlighten someone, how may people will pass it on, and how many time zones it hops before returning to you.
