Randy Tyler is the Webmaster and Online Volunteer Program Developer for Winnipeg-based Macdonald Youth Services (MYS), a 77 year-old trusted and respected charitable treatment and support agency. He was responsible for the design and development of their interactive web-based Online Volunteering Program (which he began in 1998).
Recognized as a pioneer and expert in Online Volunteering program development, his work has been noted by numerous news sources from The New York Times to CTV's Canada AM, and shared with non-profit organizations through provincial, national and international conference presentations and published articles.
Having successfully recruited and engaged both client-based and technical online volunteers from Europe, Asia, Africa and North America over the last nine years, Randy has demonstrated that the Internet can be an efficient and effective medium for highly skilled online volunteers to help non-profit organizations.
With 11 years of experience conceptualizing, designing and promoting non-profit Web sites, including continuous pioneering and embracing of evolving technologies, such as blogs, VoIP, SEO, Viral Video, RSS syndication and podcasts, along with 16 years volunteer management experience with leading and diverse not-for-profit organizations, Randy is well-positioned to communicate how non-profit organizations can take advantage of the Internet’s potential.
He is a Gold Medallist graduate of both the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba.
