About Me |
Ramy is currently completing graduate studies in International Relations at the Université Laval in Quebec City and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Université de Moncton. During his engineering studies he also spent a year at an aeronautical engineering school in Poitiers, France, and worked briefly at a research institute in Marseille. Since March 2006, he’s been working as a consultant at an emerging company in the field of international affairs and as an executive assistant at an international consulting firm. He was previously an officer for five years with the Cadet Instructor Cadre, the component of the Canadian Forces which oversees the Canadian Cadet Program, a youth movement in which he received his private pilot license.
Ramy has participated actively in various events including the World Bank 2007 World Development Report consultation, various consultations in preparation for the UN World Conference Against Racism, the National Model United Nations, and the Cairo International Model Arab League. He also attended the Invitation of Foreign Youth to Japan Program and has been a member of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO’s Youth Advisory Group since September 2005. He now plans on developing his international negotiations skills through the private sector and as a side project, hopes to engage Middle Eastern youth directly in the region’s complex problem-solving process.
