Hii! : ) I will be traveling to Costa Rica for a three-week focused community and youth development project from December 26, 2011 to January 15, 2012. More specifically I will be involved in activities focused in economic and social development of the community of Santa Maria de Dota. During my time there I will be involved with: 1. Conducting English and Computer training for both youth and adult community members 2. Facilitating youth involvement in program activities, with a particular emphasis on arts, sports and other activities to promote leadership and improve self-esteem 3.Promoting environmental education by organizing workshops on recycling and waste management with youth, adults and children As part of this project I have a goal of fundraising $2,500. I am very excited about this amazing opportunity to make a difference in our world. I believe that I am very fortunate to be given this opportunity of helping others.
