About Me

To tell you a bit more about myself, I am very involved in youth based organisations and helping to mobilize my generation to make a difference and help themselves make the world a place that we are proud to live in.

In High School I was President of the Interact club, a junior branch of Rotary International. Interact began in my school in 2002,and from the first day,i was very involved.The aim of this organisation, is to help the local community and the global family through projects that benefit all. We threw various parties at Old Age Homes and orphanages and supported a project with our international exchanges students. Through my hardwork, commitment and leadership skills I took on the position of the President of Interact in 2003 and sat on the executive board as Past President and Director of the International Committee in 2004. I coordinated many local projects as well. One such being where we ran a book drive and collected as many books as we could of all different genres and proceeded to donate it to a rural school. This school had no library intially but with Interacts help now have a full library,there were even enough books to donate to other rural High Schools whose libraries were lacking greatly.

I was also Deputy Head Girl at my High School in 2004, all these positions that i have filled I feel has helped me to expand my knowledge of the world out there and how even if one man stands alone trying to make a difference,it is better than none.I feel that i am able to naturally interact with people from all walks of life and promote change,action and results.

Now that I am at University I am involved in the Debating Union, Black Lawyers Association - (I am the Director of the Placements Project) and lastly RAG (Remember and Give)-does community work etc... I hope to join Rotaract in the near future,which is the next step in the youth branch of Rotary.

I hope that through takingITglobal I will be able to encourage more change and contribute to the youth movement on a much greater level.
