Over Mij

I am a gay Christian, which is an interesting, dichotomous life to lead in that I exist between two communities that are too often in conflict. I believe in the potential of organized religion to be a positive force for change. I am a cynical idealist, and in a lot of ways that provides more dichotomy in life than being a gay Christian. I was a religion major and a philosophy minor, and I've been trying for two years to turn that into a writing career. Yeah, say what you will. Currently I'm wrestling with a bad economy (both in this country and in my own life) and my desire to return to school to get a Master's in Professional Writing. In the meantime I'm fighting for what I believe in, because what else is there for us really?
