Originally Irish but now a naturalised PNG citizen having lived +40 years here. I am a teacher and a Priest and am the Patron of a rapidly growing youth movement. Papua New Guinea is a young country with a long way to go. I was lucky enough to be here in the years leading up to Independence and to have been a part of the developments in education since then. We are having problems now - with corrupttion, crime and violence on a large scale. So I have developed a new passion in my old age - trying to encourage our young people to make a commitment to honesty, integrity and good citizenship through our movement Youth Against Corruption. We hold a monthly forum for our members - we are starting a Newsletter - and a one hour a week Radio Programme called The Voice of Youth. It is all very exciting. Our members do not have access to the Internet - which is why I have registered with TakingITglobal - on their behalf. I look forward to meeting with others anywhere in the world who are interested in the same things we are interested in.
