About Me

Wearing different hats for different duties has nurtured and enhanced my leadership skills starting with my volunteer position as the Focal point for Y-PEER Rift Valley, Kenya). I am an MTV Staying Alive Foundation grantee (award winner). I am a chairperson of a youth organization by the name IMPACT KENYA YOUTH INITIATIVE which has been addressing issues on HIV/AIDS, peace and good governance among others. I am a team player in my scope of work and lead an exemplary life. I believe in nurturing talents and delegating duties to build capacity. I am the national focal point of Muslim youth in my country through the KENYA Muslim Youth alliance and I have been articulating and addressing issues affecting Muslim youth in Kenya. I have been actively involved in HIV/AIDS prevention activities among the youth in Kenya. I have also contributed to development of BCC strategies that yield more results. I have worked with tertiary institutions in the HIV/AIDS prevention programme. Participated in HIV/AIDS policy formulations and advocacy that address violation rights as well as eliminate stigma and discrimination. Working with USAID Rift Valley APHIA II project has sharpened my skills in analyzing the epidemic by geography, demography, behavioral and biological risk factors to better target responses. I am a TOT for peer educators and have assisted in designing peer education tools that suit local needs. I have undergone lots of trainings hence this has build my capacity to handle even complex issues. I was once short listed for the UNAIDS special youth programme, I was the best candidate from Kenya competing with 15 globally. I am a thinker, a visionary, an innovator and a doer. I also takes every opportunity to allow individuals to become leaders in their own right. I reaches out into the community to serve the people in need. I am a humanitarian with passion and devotion to mankind. My commitment is deeply rooted in my conviction that I am on this Earth to serve. My love for people and my passion for their success have led me to volunteer thousands of hours to the betterment of human kind. I have an exceptional creative mind and maintains a sense of curiosity, optimism and humour about life and its possibilities that I have never encountered with anyone else before. In addition, I am generous in every way and gives abundantly to others close to me as well as my community.. He demonstrates a strong inner sense of independence, vision, leading edge and innovative thinking and is willing to take the risk and act!. I am committed to regular self-reflection, self-learning and development and I am a truly a ‘life-long learner’ as demonstrated by my continued involvement in advanced learning and ongoing education.
