 About Me |
A York University honors graduate who majored in political science and international relations, Okeima Lawrence is an active community member having participated in various committees and community events including: the York Youth Council, Urban Harvest, York University Model United Nations and the North York Committee on Race and Ethnic Relations. In addition, he is the youngest board member with the Toronto Public Library, responsible for reviewing library board policies and procedures. He is also currently a member of the Toronto Youth Cabinet where he advocates for community development initiatives and youth program funding. As the Youth Engagement Program Advisor with the Laidlaw Foundation, Okeima actively engages ‘for-youth-by-youth’ community and social development initiatives.
Okeima is a new member of the YMCA team providing employment services to clients in the Scarborough Northeast area as an extension of his core values and personal drive towards empowering youth and communities.
