Henry is an accountant by profession. He began his accounting practice at Kened International Company Ltd, a company dealing with clearing and forwarding. He then lectured at Agape School of Professional Studies where he also got basic computer knowledge. His accounting experience was further built when he joined Waiyai Dairy as an accountant and later Airport View Garage in the same capacity. He is currently working with Gulf African Petroleum Corporation Kenya Ltd, a company operating in several nations of Africa. Before joining college, Henry worked for two years with Plan International (currently Plan Kenya), as a data collector. This gave him the opportunity of meeting more than six thousand needy families. This is where his vision to help the marginalized poor and those suffering from AIDS, was born. He campaigns against the culture of polygamy, wife inheritance, female genital mutilation and sharing of knives in male circumcision ceremonies, a common practice in many communities of Kenya. He has used funeral gatherings, church meetings and high school invitations to do his advocacy. Henry is a born again Christian with deep roots in the teachings of Christ. He has been an associate of Kenya Students Christian Fellowship (KSCF) since 1996. KSCF has served him as a vehicle through which he has visited over two hundred public High schools, three colleges and one university in Kenya. During his visits he has strongly advocated against abortion (infant murder), homosexuality, lesbianism, drug abuse and premarital sex among others. He has been an inspiration to the youth of Kenya. In his quest to help his Seme community, which is diverstated by AIDS and the Ogiek community that has been trapped under constant marginalization, he came into contact with the OVF team in 2003. Joy and Jeff have since given him much moral support in his work. Henry advocates for the following: · Bottom up economy as a means of taking the African economy from its knees · Freedom of speech for the marginalized communities · Education for the Ogiek people and small-scale businesses for the adults. · Creation of several Voluntary Counseling Centres (VCT’s) in Kenya · Strengthening of positive culture in the African community. · Collaboration and networking among organizations as a means of avoiding duplication. · The use of ICT tools as a means of communicating information.
