I learned about TakingITGlobal while attending the National Youth Leadership Conference on Technology in California (2003). While I am currently in my final year of college studying Organizational Communications (set to graduate May 2009), technology is still a strong interest.
I have been involved with the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition for the past 8 years. My participation has been as both a team member as well as serving as a mentor. In addition I have founded two new teams in the past five years - one of which is community based and open to home schooled children.
In addition to schooling, I also work for Apple Inc. as a Mac Specialist. Helping people to find technology based solutions in order to enrich their lives is a great way to spend a day at work. Creative professionals, business professionals, and the everyday home computer user can begin to use technology as an asset for their own growth rather than a challenge unto its self.
Being service oriented, I am very involved in the Catholic church working both at my parish and in college campus ministry. My spare time is spent with friends and family, my most important sources of support and encouragement.
Some of my interests, aside from technology, include cooking/baking, snow/water skiing, figure skating, kickboxing, hiking/camping, reading, and traveling.
