Health Work in Community :- I was trained by the University of Pune and have completed in Master’s degree in Social Work and Community development with First Rank in University exam of Social work-Pune University. Since then I have gained fairly wide experience in Social Works, Community development and health development work with young people in communities. Before completed my Social Work as career, I have completed Diploma in Human resource development from Chennai and completed Bachelor Degree in Sociology honors’ from Manipur University. During my placement of degree in Social Work, I have done my one-month experiential learning placement at ACCEPT- HIV/AIDS Care and Support Programme in Bangalore, India Since July 2001 to April2003, I have got an opportunity to work as a Social Work Volunteer and as a Community Facilitator in the Salvation Army Evangeline Booth hospital- Community Based HIV/AIDS Programme that is supported by Norway Development Agency (NORARD). Since I worked as a volunteer in Salvation Army HIV/AIDS Community programme, I completed one month experiential learning programme on HIV/AIDS care and support to people living with HIV/AIDS in home and community. During that time, I worked as a volunteer facilitator in the Salvation Army National HIV/AIDS Facilitation Programme in India. After complete my Master Degree in Social Work and Community Development, I got an opportunity to worked as a full time Social Worker cum Community Facilitator in the Salvation Army Evangeline Booth hospital Ahmednagar- Maharashtra - Community Based HIV/AIDS Programme that is supported by Norway Development Agency (NORARD) since July 2003 to April.2004 During my study, I participated in Participatory Action Research based on community programme HIV/AIDS in Ahmednagar-MS (Oct.2001), Chennai (December.2002) and Nagercoil-TN (December 2002) which was facilitated by the Salvation Army National HIV/AIDS Facilitation programme and International Head quarter’s Action research team. Then, I promote as a HIV/AIDS and Community Health Development Facilitation Programme Coordinator in the Regional Headquarter at Mumbai, India- The Salvation Army India Western territory. Since April 2004, I develop the capacity building of young people in 40 communities in Western India including Maharashtra and Gujarat. I say, I coordinating 40 Community based HIV/AIDS Programme in western India including 2 hospital based HIV/AIDS Programme and 1 clinic based programme presently. I was the team leader and Facilitator for the Programme evaluation and monitoring in The Salvation Army Emery hospital- Gujarat HIV/AIDS community based programme on October 2004 and the Salvation Army Evangeline Booth hospital Ahmednagar MS on December 2004 ( there were 9 voluntary community based programme evaluation). In January 2005, I was the one of team mate for external evaluation and monitoring programme for the Tear Fund UK funded programme in the Intermission HIV/AIDS and care programme in Mumbai. Before that, I was the National Team mate for programme evaluation and monitoring team in Kerala Salvation Army Community HIV/AIDS programme on May 2004 and in June 2004 for the Manipur Community Caring Programme of HIV/AIDS and drugs. I am also the team mate of the Salvation Army-Mumbai HIV/AIDS and Community Health Development programme which are support by Family Health International, USAID and Norwegian Church AID- Care and Support programme to People living with HIV/AIDS in Mumbai. I gain valuable skill and developing my facilitation process capacity from the Salvation Army National HIV/AIDS Facilitation programme as a National Facilitation Team mate since 2001. In the International experiences of Salvation Army HIV/AIDS Programme, I got an opportunity to attend the XVI International AIDS Conference at Bangkok-Thailand on 2004, July and contributed in youth programme of IAS as they given full scholarship for conference. In the capacity development of young people in the World, I was the team leader for pre-exposure visit to Andra Pradesh for the International Youth Capacity Development Programme Consultant, which arranged and facilitated by the Salvation Army International Headquarter Health and HIV/AIDS Consultant team-London UK. Also I attended International Youth Capacity Development programme Consultant at Mizoram later on July.2004. I presented a paper on “Community response to infected Orphan and Widow in Community- India Experience” at First Asia Pacific Conference on HIV/AIDS, Women and Girls at Islamabad-Pakistan on December 2004. In Lahore-Pakistan, I attended the Asia Pacific Cluster Meeting on HIV/AIDS and Community Health Development that arranged and facilitated by the Salvation Army Asia Pacific Regional HIV/AIDS and Community health development Facilitation Team at the Salvation Army Headquarter-Pakistan on December 2004. In this year 2005, I was the team leader for the Salvation Army National HIV/AIDS Facilitation team visits to Burma-Tamu HIV/AIDS Community programme for facilitating Cross Border Issue like HIV/AIDS, Drugs, Orphan, Widow, Sex worker and other community issues. In ICAAP- International Conference on AIDS in Asia and Pacific-Kobe Japan in July 2005, Local organizing team of ICAAP have selected two Abstract paper in related community HIV/AIDS experience in India and I presented two abstract paper on it in different topics. And later, I represent and attended as Team leader for India in Asia Pacific Regional Youth Capacity Development Consultation at Tokyo- the Salvation Army Japan Territorial Headquarter which was organized and facilitating by the Salvation Army Asia Pacific Regional HIV/AIDS and Community health development Facilitation Team from 6th July to 9th July 2005. Recently, I was in Kathmandu-Nepal for the South Asia Ecumenical Workshop on 2nd week of November 2005 and I presented the country presentation on HIV/AIDS. Currently I am in the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai for the 3 month training on HIV/AIDS with the scholarship support from UNAIDS-India. In the Salvation Army HIV/AIDS facilitation National Experience: I have visited to sharing and learning experiential programme development and capacity building in many Salvation Army location in India like Kelara, Tamil Nadu, Andra Predesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur and Delhi-where the Salvation Army HIV/AIDS responses programme exist. I do counselling to people living with HIV/AIDS, their partners, relative, family and neighborhoods. Also doing home visits to people living with AIDS, arranging community meeting and community conversation with young people, elder folk, women folk, leaders in community and facilitating many community/church in many part of India where the Salvation Army Community based HIV/AIDS responses. I have strong sense of learning attitude of facilitating the behaviors changes in communities especially among the young people and sexual health. I would like to share the experiences, which I learn from the local and community action, and experiences responding to HIV/AIDS care, prevention and support in community, creating the responsible among the young people response to HIV/AIDS, Orphan and widow living with AIDS, Drug addiction, alcoholism, suicide and other community and sexual health. Vision for me in community programmes that to facilitating the young people and community to change the behaviors from risky issues in community. I have strong confidence to developing the atmosphere of Networking and rapport building with other local, national and international organizations as globally and locally. I would like to develop my capacity and responsibility to set up the strong relationship with many research and development team for young people and community in around the globe. Being a youth, I am having a sense of humanitarian feeling to save the young people from HIV/AIDS, Drugs and Alcoholism, suicide and risky sexual health. So that I would like to learn and facilitating the capacity development of community and youth response to create the preventive and care awareness among the young people in around the globe as I am the active member of Global Youth Coalition on AIDS which supporting by UNFPA and UNAIDS.
