About Me

Yama Meerzada is working as a Curriculum Developer / Dari-Pashto Instructor with at the Language Acquisition Resource Center (LARC) at San Diego State University.

He has completed his Bachelors of Business Administration, and is now planning to peruse his graduate studies in Political Science/Comparative Politics program at San Diego State University.

He has worked as a Training Assistant with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan for 3 years and has been involved in the field of, education, Training and Development for more than 6 years.

He is a youth activist, and he was selected to represent the youth from Afghanistan in several occasions; as the sole delegate from Afghanistan, at the One Young World Summit (youth leadership conference) on 8-10 February 2010 at Excel Centre in London, UK, at the 7th Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations in New York, U.S.A from 4-6 August 2010 discussing the challenges regarding the strategies and challenges to face for reaching the United Nation's - Millennium Developments Goals (MDGs) by 2015.

His vision is to empower people through proper education and develop a stable educational system for his generation and the generations upcoming.

He has conducted different managerial, leadership and capacity building trainings; he has a strong skill in public speaking and presentation. He has devoted his time and passion in different Youth led activities focused on community development and youth empowerment.

Yama Meerzada has a passionate nature. He has a contagious enthusiasm for his work. He has a friendly approach with everyone.
He has a heart full of love for human kind; those close to him can count on him, in-fact when he does anything it is never in half measure.

His character is such that he always goes the extra mile. He is a hardworking talent, with passion to study, learn and serve his country and people. His character is such that he must give his all and there are no compromises at all.

He cannot stand deception or pretension. He is an open minded person, he has a trusting nature. He is friendly and outgoing and has a great sense of fun and playfulness. He is also philosophically minded and his passion is to educate people with the knowledge and skills he has acquired.
