I don't know about you, but I thoroughly dislike my country. There are so many things that are not seen on the news that happen everyday. For instance, over 10,000 perfectly legal immigrants have been in jail for the past 3 years, without contact to the outside world. They all originally went to have their green passes renewed right after September 11, but then they were arrested, thrown into jail, and have remained there since.
How do I know all of this? I watch the international news, stuff that is so casually left out of American newspapers, such as The Washington Post, the New York Times, and USA Today.
We are the only western-world country left with both the death penalty and pro-gun laws. We are the last to not completely allow gay/lesbian/bi/transexual marriage. Although we consider ourselves to be one of the most civilized countries, we really are not.
