I am from Andhra Pradesh, India, where I persued graduation in Philosophy and also in History. After completing graduation I had two full years of experience in teaching philosophy at St. John’s Regional Institute of Philosophy, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. During these two years I also actively engaged in designing and conducting various training programs for youth. In collaboration with few of my students of philosophy. I formed youth groups in more than 30 villages in Vijayanagarm District of Andhra Pradesh and animated various capacity building programs for the youth. Having spent quality time with the rural youth, I developed a desire to become a professional youth worker. Making my dream come true I obtained master's degree in social work with specialization in Youth Development from Madras University, Tamilnadu, in 2004. During this time I have also gained experience in working with the street children, people living with HIV and AIDS, and young students at various stages of life. Later I had the opportunity to work iwth Youth Employment Summit (YES) Campaign, which is an international project of Boston based non-profit organization – Education Development Centre (EDC) Inc., I was involved in developing various project proposals for the YES Country Networks in Asia and the Pacific Region. I also assisted the YES Campaign Secretariat in building a strong ministerial delegation for the YES Mexico 2004, a global summit that gathered over 1500 youth delegates and over 33 ministers from 120 countries. I am actively involved in assisting the YES Asia and the Pacific Regional Office in building partnership with various UN systems and other potential donors. This way, spending my life and energy for the youth I find meaning in life. Later, my area of interest also focused on children. It is this new urge in me that created a platform to work with the children - Children on the Street in Bangalore - India. It was indeed a good experience to work with the children on the street. From there I moved on to working with the children living with HIV/AIDS and Children Affected by HIV/AIDS in my hometow - Hyderabad - India. This is that project of the GFATM and I do gain a good experience in this project. I am more interested in knowing what works best with the children and youth and render my services at my best. Everyday I strive to learn and contribute my best to the society, particularly the children and youth.
