I'm working with the TIG team on the Tread Lightly program (www.TreadLightly.me), a free climate change education and engagement initiative that empowers youth to minimize their ecological footprints and take action on climate change. I'm interested in meeting members of the TIG online community and checking out the great resources that have been shared! About me... I recently graduated from OISE/University of Toronto with an M.Ed in Adult Education and Community Development. My main areas of focus were critical pedagogy and alternative approaches to social justice education. Before going back to school to do my Masters, I spent a couple of years working in the non-profit sector in Montreal as the coordinator of public education for The Social Justice Committee. During grad school I did research and grant-writing for the Centre for Women's Studies in Education and co-created an independent arts-informed research project on queer-identified women and access to safe public space. In my spare time I like to explore Toronto's neighborhoods and people-watch in coffee shops. I live close to a nature trail so I spend a lot of time biking in the summer with my girlfriend but unlike a lot of brave Torontonians, I put my bike away as soon as it starts to snow!
