About Me   About Me
Omowale means the son has come back home. Adewale means the crown has returned. Omowale is 4 years married to the tall, talented, beautiful, and intelligent Neneh Jalloh-Adewale and father of the remarkable Rayne.

Omowale Adewale is the Coordinator of Special Services for NYS Assemblywoman Greene. He dedicates this area of his work to managing constituent services at the district office & representing the Assemblywoman.

Omowale Adewale, formerly known as Lawrence James and L. James is the executive director and co-founder of the Grassroots Artists MovEment (G.A.ME), an international non-profit membership of artists and organizers working around building youth leadership and preventing youth incarceration, developing health care access and unionizing (empowering) artists in the music and media industries. KICKGAME.COM is the site for G.A.ME.

Omowale has appeared on national television and radio in Nigeria as a celebrity host on Sound City and EKO FM. His efforts have been reported through NYCs WBAI, Hot97, Power105 and News12. He has appeared in several magazines including the Source and XXL. Other media, such as the Amsterdam, Village Voice, Bronx Times, Caribbean Life and the book Socialism and Democracy: Hip-Hop, Race and Cultural Politics have documented his precious work around labor, health and youth issues. He has been invited to discuss quality healthcare access by the Hip-Hop Political Convention in 2004, Healthcare-NOW in 2005 for his professional testimony at the universal healthcare access congressional hearing; and by Congressman John Conyers in 2006 to develop healthcare in the US.

Mr. Adewale received his training certificate in teenage foster care from Family Support Systems Unlimited Inc. and the Administration of Childrens Services. He is a certified teenage mentor through Phoenix House of New York.

He is the youngest recipient of the FAR Fund Fellowship administered by the Fund for Social Change. His fellowship was given to him for preventing violence against youth. He advocated successfully to judges to redirect youth into programs instead of remanding them into juvenile facilities.

Omowale has lectured internationally on ways to incorporate youth into leadership roles and how to prevent youth incarceration. After 10 years out of the studio to research the industries that made him leave and focus on organizing, he has acquired the bug of spitting once again, but only to organize the people.
