 About Me |
I recently graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Development and a focus on east Africa. I spent last summer in Ethiopia with HOPE International Development Agency. (3 summers ago I was with HOPE in the DR working on a sustainable agriculture project aimed at reducing erosion close to the Haitian border, in 1998 I lived in India at Kodaikanal International School with my family - it changed my life!)
When I grow up (!) I want to work to change the way HIV/AIDS is perceived in Ethiopia (and in north america) and would like to work with sex trade workers and local governmental agencies in Addis to address the web of factors that lead women to their profession and challenge people in development to address HIV and AIDS as a gendered issue. Phew.
Also. I love kiwi sorbet and puddles, early morning walks and mangoes.
Just for fun (I don't assume you - whoever you are - really want to know that I jump in puddles - but I do - I also walk into trees while reading - only by accident of course!)
