About Me

When I was 16, I began the first Free The Children chapter in Australia, after seeing a piece on Craig Kielburger and Free The Children on 60 Minutes.
From there, I have been the main contact in Australia, raising awareness about child labour, and letting other youth know that we in the developed world, take a LOT of things for granted, and we should share it, and stop wasting our time on frivolous things.
My aim is to also empower Australian youth, to not depend on being babysat by adults, to tell them how they can reach their goals. I believe that youth already have those skills, they just have to be reminded.
I attended the 2002 International Free The Children conference in Toronto, and the 2002 Global Leaders Today Academy, and was asked to stay.
I'm now working as International Youth Co-Ordinator (until after the next Conference/Academy) where I have the honour of corresponding with hundreds, and thousands of youth around the world, where I help them with fundraising ideas, how to research topics they are most passionate about, and help them educate themselves and others.
From there, they can take action, and fundraise to build a school in rural areas where other NGO's don't go, and then sustain it, sending school/health supplies, paying for a teacher's salary, fundraising to pay for a meal plan for the children that will have the chance to go to school, perhaps for the first time. I'm SO glad that I'm here, and I'm going to take it back to Australia and share with others what I've learnt here.
