About me
I go by the name of Jonez . I am 18 years old, and am on my last semester of high school. I plan to continue my schooling by applying to college and focus in on a career in journalism. I was fortunate enough to land a placement on the TakingITGlobal Team through the co-op program in my school. This gives me the opportunity to get hand-on training in the work force. At TakingITGlobal I attained a position is the Editorials. I get to edit, and submit articles for the Zine, and even get to create my own.
I am of Filipino descent, and was born in Montreal, Quebec, but spent most of my life in the Greater Toronto Area. My interests include: basketball, novels, music, literature, and current events such as the HIV/AIDS Epidemic. I also enjoy listening to music, watching movies, shopping, eating out, and hanging out with my friends.
More Info
I used to work at the Warden Woods Communuty Centre as a Peer Educator on HIV/AIDS . The entire experience has taught me to appreaciate life, and how to handle any situation that I may come across. It was an opportunity to meet and educate all types of people, and i would never give it up for the world. I am also a volunteer on the Scarborough Youth Council . This group is responsible for the annual youth event , Vibrations- From Ripples to Waves. Every year at the Albert CAmbell Square here in Scarborough, there is a big showcase of talents in music, sports and art. I was also a model for PIDC's Mabuhay Festival where i was given the chance to explore my culture, and learned alot about my people here in Canada.
