I support the participation of all children and young people throughout Yorkshire, my role as a Participation worker allows me to support barnardos to fulfil their goal of true partnership with those we work with.Barnarods is an UK National chartiy that works with children, young people, families and their communities, to find out more about the work we do please visit our website at barnardos.org.uk
I believe that the right way to improve child care organisations is through the participation and consultation with our service users, through providing knowlage and understanding through participation training to external authorities and agencies. I take every opportunity to influence other professional bodies to the issues that affect the children and young people of today’s communities.
My true passions are Social Culture and Social Change,! Are we able to change the pattern of family cycles through generations? Is it true that if you were a young parent that your child will become a younger parent too? If you are from a one parent family does this mean your child too will become a lone parent? Studies show that this maybe true in some contexts of society but can the social cycle really be changed with the right influence and education? A challenging argument but feel that we are a society of social stereo types and need to be educated not categorised in to social groups.
