Over Mij

Hello! I'm Jimmy. I work at the BBC as a production trainee, learning how to become "a programme maker/commissioner of the future" (BBC's words, not mine).

I have a postgrad in broadcast journalism and a bachelor's in social anthropology. But I spent more of my undergrad life in student politics than in the library. During this time, I acquired various delightful pseudonyms, including 'Action Man', 'Passfield fairy godmother' and 'Pop Tart' (explanations available on request).

I'm a trustee of Tower Hamlets Summer University (THSU). We're an educational charity that runs free short courses for 11-25-year-olds - on anything from digital imaging to tennis. THSU's a youth participation model that we're working to spread across the UK - and even globally!

I enjoy singing (something that seems to surprise people). I was in a gospel choir for a couple of years, during which time I held the privilege of being the token non-black member.

I can put my feet behind my head.

I have a habit of losing umbrellas (no offence, Rihanna). You could say that that means I like to get wet, but that'd just be facetious of you.
