About me
The homo sapient sapient is characterised by most of anthropologists as a “cultural” species. Tools, complex articulated language, developed intelligence, as must details that made us different from every other primate and forged our “intellectual primate” reputation. Today, with the internet and the global awareness rise, we are more conscious of our cultural status, and it is indeed a multicultural one.
Our cultures, from Canada to India, from Christian to Muslim, have gone far from our sole individual comprehension and control. With them appeared society and they are depending on each other. They seem to be changing and evolving alone, like a distinct living form. We could explain that with a parallel, the human being.
We are the complex amalgam of cells, which evolved to survive a hostile world, allying with each others to create intricate life form much able to survive. It is called evolution and has been happening since these first cells. The same is occurring with cultures. They are born from more simple being, our own belief, that combine together to fit and survive. Today, these cultures, that are at their most complex level , are in danger of destruction, or extinction, if you prefer, not because a natural selection (here culture destroying other culture) but because of the cells that compose them, us.
We are our planet, the whole cultural and biological world, cancer. By our unthinking action, in the past centuries, we started a cycle that is corrupting our oxygen, our culture and the whole life process itself.
What we have that differs from simple cancerous lungs of brain cells is that we can think and try to stop the system from the inside. We can and have to act to save what is left of our world, because if it can live without us, we can’t live without it. It all must start today. We must think, globally, and act locally; to ensure the future of today’s biological and human culture, because even if life can’t be destroyed and will reappear if we fail today, it is today’s life that counts. It is more important because all the progress and process were made over thousands of years. We can’t let these efforts be undone. We must not let the “system” reset. We must act, for the good of the whole planet, not only for some big-gun money-makers that are, if you think about it, the biggest parasite of the system.
Think, globally, act, locally.
