I recently returned home from India, where I spent 5 weeks with 9 other McMaster University students in West Bengal and Mizoram. We volunteered with 2 NGOs there and learned a lot about the complex issues affecting development and the community-based approaches to addressing their needs. This trip was organized through Global Youth Network and I was the Team Leader. Last year I was fortunate enough to co-Lead a trip to Macedonia in Eastern Europe and in 2001 I was a team member on a sports-based trip to Brazil.
