About me
Hi I am Farah Aw-Osman,born and raised in Somalia, I am undergraduate, of African History/English. In 1988 I immigrated to Canada. I worked there as a youth coordinator, conflict resolusionist, as well as a teacher, but in 1997 I decided to go back to my home country and help Somali youths there. I established an organisation call Dr.Umad foundation which is peer to peer based organisation, and it became well known org. Our main mission is in the area of youth rehabilitation, peace, education, employment,sports/recreation, and HIV prevention. We have around 100 youth volunteers who are working throughout the country around the clock, and without their effort, time and commitment our vision would have been doomed. Thanks to our hardworking volunteers and our local, national and International partners. Now I am back in Canada, where I am trying to work even harder to help Dr.Umad Foundation and other youth organisation in Somalia. I advocate on their behalf and I try to get finding for them. Since I came back to Canada I start working an organisation call Somali Center for Family Services based in Ottawa, Canada as a youth and recreation program coordinator.
