I should start by introducing myself in full as Fale Andrew Lesa, born and raised in Auckland City/NZ of Samoan and German descent. At 19 years of age I currently study a conjoint degree in Law and Arts, majoring in political science and international relations. On the political spectrum I would feel most comfortable in the middle, swaying often to the left but raised Conservatively as a Presbyterian I tend to lean closer to the right on particular social issues. Politically I am a pioneering member of the Manukau City Youth Council, I was a former Youth MP in the 2007 NZ Youth parliament, I act as a Youth Ambassador on behalf of the Ministry of Youth Development, I'm secretary for the Manurewa Pacific Leader's Trust and I'm also a Pacific Adviser for the Manukau City Council. Politics aside, my interests include reading both non-fiction and fiction, music, film (preferring the historically accurate, documentary, educational and often even comedy and action), chess (to my surprise I was chosen as a member for the University of Auckland chess club team in my first year), debating (involved in the school debating teams for as long as I can remember) and of course current affairs, international relations, blogging, meeting new people, family, etc. Socially, I was brought up by two Conservative parents with four other brothers. My position in the family structure was as the middle child and in this position I thrived in independence which allowed me to seek and understand the importance of a well-grounded education. To this day I consider myself a proudly practicing Presbyterian, my Christian bringing holds a very important component of my life and I'm also a very family-orientated individual.
